I am a graduate of the Hartt School of Music and have a BA in Musical Theater and Opera. I have been lucky enough to perform at many of the top rated regional theater companies on the East Coast. I have been teaching, coaching, and performing for over 30 years. My teaching style and technique comes from working with the very best instructors and directors that graciously shared their knowledge with me. As an instructor, my goal is to take my experience and pass it on to my students. Over the years, I have learned that, like performing, teaching is as an art that requires robust knowledge, experience, and passion.
For 15 years, I owned and operated Bzdick Studio of Music in Charlottesville, VA. I am proud to have coached many students who went on to have successful college, performance, and teaching careers. During my years in Charlottesville, I also coached a high school chorus that became the top in the state of Virginia. One year I placed the top 7 altos in the state of Virginia. When I opened the studio in Yorktown, VA, I trained several students for competition and all of them placed at the top of both district and state competition. Nothing makes me happier than to see my students succeed. Student success is the greatest reward of teaching!
I opened the Bzdick Studio of Performing Arts to provide dedicated performing artists with a place to learn, grow, polish, and perfect their craft. If you have desire, passion, and commitment, I would love to help guide you to success.
A favorite instructor of mine once gave me the assignment to list my goals and dreams. I brought the list to him and after reading my list, he looked me in the eye and asked, "Are you packed?" This question helped me realize that when opportunity knocks, I must be ready to answer. I strive to develop students so they are ready to answer when they hear opportunity knocking. So, are you packed? Let me help you be prepared for every opportunity as you proceed along the journey of performing.
I look forward to the opportunity to meet and work with you!
Sincerely,
Mark Bzdick
